what is the best way to hook up a HDtv, HD cable and Sony DAV-C770 system?
I just purchased a Hitachi plasma(HDTV79). I have HD cable thru Comcast and A Sony dvd/receiver(DAV-C770). I would like to have surround sound while playing dvds/radio and when using the tv. I am not sure which components I should hook up to eachother. The Sony has one S-Video, one IEEE1394, component, and one optical hook-ups. Cable box has one S video, one DVI-D, one optical, component, and one IEEE1394 hook-ups. The tv has four HDMI(worth getting a cable DVI to HDMI?), component, one S-video, one optical hook-ups. Do I run cable from Cable to dvd the tv? Cable to tv? Dvd to tv? Or some sort of other configuration? Also, what cables would give me the best audio/video results?
Thanks

Looking for the best way to connect DirecTV HD, Sony HDTV & DVD surround sound system?
Can I connect using all HDMI connections? If so, how should I configure? There are (2 HDMI inputs) on the HDTV; (1 HDMI output) on the Satellite HD DirecTV and (1 HDMI output) on the Sony DAV - FX900W DVD Surround sound system. If this isn’t feasible, what’s the best way to configure and what type of connections should I use?
Connecting TV to DVD HiFi System?
I have just purchased a Sony Bravia KDL-46D3500 TV with a Sony DAV-DZ260 speaker system.
To allow me to hear the TV on the DVD speaker system as stated in the manual (You can enjoy the TV sound in this system by easy operation. To use this function, connect the system and the TV with an audio cord (not supplied) and an HDMI cable (not supplied)).
I have everything working just can’t hear anything which is why I need the audio cord.
The DVD system has only Coaxial Input and Optical Input, but the TV only has the red and white RCA output.
My question, is there an adaptor to allow me to connect the two RCA’s to the coaxial input on the DVD?
I was looking at this: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=1018&C=APoint&U=MapAuto
Would that work?
Thanks,
How do you hook up a speaker selector to a Sony Home Theater System in a box?
I have recently purchased an outdoor rock speaker for my patio and I am trying to hook it up to my reciever but there are no more speaker connections. My Sony receiver is already connected to my home theater system which has 6 speakers with no more connections left to hook up this rock speaker. I have purchased a speaker selector but can’t figure out how to hook everything up? The speaker selector that I have purchase is from Radio Shack. Any advice would be great!
Can a Sony B50 Satellite Receiver or a RCA DTC100 HDTV Satellite receiver be used to receive FTA signals?
I have a Sony B50 satellite receiver with access card and a RCA DTC 100 HDTV satellite receiver w/remote, no card and would like to be able to convert one or both of them to receive FTA signals. Can this be done? If not I would like to know which FTA brands are the best, most reliable. I’ve checked out several on the net, but actually cannot see much difference. Maybe the Coolsat 8000 or Pansat. One with HDTV is preferable. Thanks
