PSP Clear Case Mod
I attempt to put my psp back together in a different case….
Yeah i run into a lot of problems but i still got the job done…
——————————————–
Ok I decided to add some more info just in case you guys are debating about doing the mod…
1. I got the full clear case from http://stores.ebay.com/CoolMods for around $56. Though, I think at another store, they were also selling chrome red, chrome blue, and white full cases too.
2. How easy is it? Well I’ve replaced the wifi board of a psp (which practically requires you to take everything out)before i did this mod so.. If this is the first time you’re opening your psp, i suggest you take pictures of where things go and stuff. Make sure you don’t lose any screws too. A pretty good tutorial on getting to the back parts of your psp would be the video for psp2tv.
3. Sorry for not posting up a video on how to disassemble a psp. I’m in the works of doing another full case mod so maybe I’ll get some footage soon.
4. There’s a good chance that everything might not go the way u want the first time. Like after I stuck all the things together, some buttons were stuck, it looked like something was pushing against the screen, and it just felt tighter and more fragile. So you might have to take it back apart and adjust some things.
5. Last and not least, DO NOT HESITATE TO ASK FOR HELP ON FORUMS OR ANYTHING… even though i didn’t, i still think it would be best if you do… better to seem like a noob rather than end up with a heavy paper weight.
ADDED 8/9/07: I’ve been getting messages about people asking for other tutorials on replacing other things besides faceplates or cases. They were looking for things like how to replace the lcd screen, replacing wifi board, and etc. I might post other videos for those things if I have the time.
Also I’ve been getting messages about UMD problems after the full case mod. First thing that may come to mind is “SHIET… I PHUCKING MESSED UP THE UMD DRIVE”. That may not be the case. Try loosening or tightening the screws that hold the UMD drive in your case (should be the 4 screws in the corners of the UMD drive behind the UMD door). Mine used to make really weird grinding noises that freaked the hell outta me and I didn’t know if I messed up the laser or something but I loosened some screws and the noise disappeared. Another guy messaged me back saying that his problem was that some of the gears were getting caught on the case itself and he just needed to cut a little of the plastic off to make it work.
Any other questions just message me.. ill try to help any way i can

putting psx/ps1 games onto psp, part 1
*********READ IF HAVING PROBLEMS”"”"”"”"”"”"
As of now i am no longer allowing comments as i am getting swarmed with emails and peoples problems, when they don’t read comments when i have solved the problem - so i keep repeating myself and its getting beyond the joke.. so here are some of the most common solutions to problems.. however if these do not help you.. please feel free to contact me via private message. However again if the problem has been covered here and you email me.. i will NOT reply.
1) To put multiple disks on a psp, put the disks in separate folders - wer wird 1 for disk 1.. wer wird 2 for disk 2… etc
2) You MUST have CUSTOM FIRMWARE not ordinary Sony firmware.. otherwise this will NOT work
3) If you get an error message or frozen screen on the ps1 logo whilst loading the game.. put the folders of the games in a GAME150 folder instead of GAME
4)Any custom firmware above 3.03oec will work.. anything below will not
5) To install custom firmware on a psp you MUST be on a previous version of custom firmware or on a psp running 1.5 official sony firmware
6) If you have a up to date or close to sony official firmware psp e.g. 3.9 - you will need what is called a ‘Pandora battery’ and ‘jigsaw memory stick’ - these allow you to downgrade any version of psp to 1.5 (to obtain both of these devices you will have to use sites / shops such as ebay and amazon.. and local mod shops)
7) If one or more or all of the files do not appear on your desktop after conversion.. check where your output folder is set to and look there.. its on the window just before you click convert on clonecd
For programs such as cloncd and popstation you will have to use sites such as QJ.NET to download them from
9) To do this process you must have a physical PlayStation disk of the game you want to convert.. it is illegal to download ISO’S of games and this process still wont work
10) Make sure to double click the GAME disk on clonecd and not any other
11) This will not work for ps2 games so don’t bother trying
12) To open the downloaded files e.g. popstation in rar or zip format you will need a program such as STUFFIT - use google
11) *****WARNING***** if downgrading any psp to any version is done incorrectly .. there is the risk of ‘BRICKING’ this would mean without a Pandora battery.. your psp will shut down and not turn on again.. only the power light will work.. with a Pandora battery and jigsaw MS you would be able to fix this - i DON’T take any responsibility for damage done to your psp - your OWN risk
ALSO… don’t forget to check video part 2 for the conclusion of this video.. i had to do 2 videos as my old software couldn’t cut out the conversion process

Speaker inputs on hifi not working.likelihood of repair?
I’ve been noticing the sound from my bedroom speakers has been a bit odd, and have worked out that left hand inputs arent working.
While this is very annoying, its not devasting, as I can simply plug all the speakers (4) into the right hand side.
I would like to get it fixed, and get my stereo back, but dont know if its worth it.
How much would it cost to replace/repair the connection, and where would I go to get it done?
Its a Sony micro hi-fi component system, bought about 4/5 years I think
